When you zoom in, the images in the DR-10 Early fade to black

Hi,

Thanks for the note – exposures should be fixed now.

I’m not sure what you mean about splitting the grz and grz+i images. Do you mean putting the grz ones next to each other in the layer list?, or something else.

cheers,
dustin

It would be better to split the DR10 GRZ images in one folder and the GRZ+I images in another folder, make the GRZ+I default, and move DR9 under the Older surveys. What do you think Dustin @dstn? Maybe you can also bring back DR10 early as I found some SN candidates in the new images that were released? (With GRZ early into the grz folder and grz+I into the grz+I folder) and maybe the DR10a images along it (which is only grz+I to move it in the grz+I folder) is definitely a great idea to me.

The main site hasn’t been updated yet—only dr9 and low data.
What are your thoughts Dustin @dstn?

Cheers, Ms. Timbers & Chris

DR10-early was just a preview of DR10, and has now been deleted. DR10a was just a small test area and is superceded by DR10.

I don’t know how that gotten deleted… now I’m missing my sn candidates!:disappointed:

Some were only visible in DR10 early!

Do you have an example RA,Dec?
The only way DR10-early and DR10 differ are that for some areas with very deep coverage, we had to trim down some exposures.

Host Galaxy: PGC923657
RA Dec: 198.547375 -14.513417
Filter - R-Band
Captured April 2013

There was a green dot to the left of it, and now I can no longer report it!! Because the preview is gone

Cheers, Chris & Sonya

Okay, so I just added a link at the top of the “exposures” page to include in the list of exposures those that got cut from the final DR10, eg
https://www.legacysurvey.org/viewer/exposures/?ra=198.5474&dec=-14.5133&size=100&layer=ls-dr10&cut
which shows your candidate.

Great! Thanks Dustin, Great Idea. I tried but unfortunately I got blanc images.
I just noticed this feature while looking at another transient candidate.

One of the errors in the blank images

Before (When single exposures are broken) When you zoom in, the images in the DR-10 Early fade to black - #20 by ChrisSnell88

Try now… that’s a particularly poor exposure so we didn’t even bother computing some of the calibration products for it.

Huh? I still see blancs…

But a totally different error message…

Two days from now, the supercomputing center where legacy survey is hosted, is expected to do maintenance. Hopefully, after the maintenance, everything such as the “cut” exposures will be fixed from now on.

I think what happened is that you might’ve updated a different version of the viewer (like the “dev” or beta version as it works fine for me) but I am sure like I said, they could be fixing it after the maintenance period.

Hi,

Nobody except me is fixing anything  Supercomputer maintenance windows sometimes cause extra things to go down temporarily.

If you can send the URL you’re looking at that is giving blanks, I can look into it. It’s probably an issue with Y-band images.

dustin

They finally came back!
