This Galaxy looked unique to me so I started viewing the single exposures in DR10 and noticed an object had moved through the frame.

could well be a Voorwerp
look for ‘onion galaxies’ thread and post it there
Hi,
If you’re talking about the little pure-white specks, my guess is that those are cosmic rays, because they are very sharp, but any light that comes through the atmosphere gets blurred out,
cheers,

It might be cosmic rays. I thought it might be several things. It’s a target rich environment. We may never know.
This galaxy has grown on me. I see the bow waves in like a light echo of sorts and wondered if it was gravity waves causing it. Like huge waves of gravity that aligned them. Waves. My phone kept taking me back to this galaxy over and over again. Like some strange error. Like say I was looking up another object in Simbad and pressed to back button. Onion with wings. Or is it a turkey? Happy Thanksgiving! ![]()
