This dark spot used to be pink in previous surveys now in DR11 SN 2023ct looks like soot. Really interesting and beautiful Galaxy as well.

It is really interesting to me that the pink area is now black and the blue star is much less visible in dr11

Is it smoke or is it a Tetrachrome Supernova? The 4th primary color. Alexander’s Dark Band visible spectrum light that most of us are colorblind to. Tetrachrome Supernova would look good on a record cover.
Interesting observation.
Why it’s gray in DR11 images, I don’t know. Maybe a glitch with the weight maps or something.
