two sn have been recorded in this galaxy (NGC 4129) ~ SN 2002E appeared near the centre in, wait for it, 2002

SN 1954aa appeared towards the outer right spiral arm in, you guessed it, in 1954 ~ it’s position is indicated with the other red circle

SIM labeled it as a nova
