Are the DES images in the viewer built up from the DES gri filter images (like the SDSS images)? If so are they the same / comparible to the SDSS gri images?
PS I just figured out theres a huge overlap of SDSS and DES 
(Doesn’t answer my question though)
The DES images are grz (same as DECaLS).
SDSS’s z is too noisy/shallow to make nice grz images, so I went for gri for SDSS.
