Typed the RA & Dec into the TNS nothing came up.
Hi,
This is a good candidate. And it is an unreported one. I checked everything including the ‘Rochester Bright Supernova’ pages.
Ine
thank you Ine! I forgot I had even posted some of these on here. I get a lot wrong. but I am happy this one is a good candidate. I get less wrong these days and for different reasons. I think this unreported SN candidate makes 5 for me. I have tried to share LS with as many people as I can and have focused more on sharing than hunting. finding even one unreported Supernova was a bucket list item for me and I am sure it is for others. Space is incredibly beautiful and We live in a really special time, the far flung future for many people. I usually just scroll the sky viewer marveling at how big and diverse and beautiful it is. I strongly believe I witnessed Tau Corona Borealis’ recurring nova while star gazing for shooting stars on 8/9/24 at 11:33-34 pm CST. I was camping in an area without light pollution and at first I thought a helicopter in the distance was spotlighting me until it flashed and I saw light rippling like water in the sky. it looked ionized in the area afterwards and later that night it did it again. I fully expected to see it in the news the next day and did not. I wrote several Astronomers at my local University and even Neil DeGrasse Tyson twice and have gotten nothing for a response. the recurring nova was expected and as of yet I have seen no news. I know a lot of Science is going on in outerspace and what a shame if the scientific community missed it. I would love to see it again! Cheers and thank you for all your help on my posts!
