I wanted to bring up this note regarding the supernova candidate found on March 28, 2023 (fifth in consist) This is a candidate SN that was reported by my son as AT 2013ht and it has incorrect information on it. On the TNS page there are two comments on the bottom that discusses the corrections to the band and magnitude. So far this information has not been corrected but I would like to send an email to the folks at the TNS to change this. For some background please see:
I don’t have a TNS account to report SNe and AT’s but my son does. We are still deciding whether to report them soon, moire than likely after 2013ht thing gets resolved.
ALSO: From what we can understand what happened is that there was some confusion between the measurements of magnitude and flux when reporting and that it was his first time ever reporting an AT. The text reads “Mag. / Flux” and took the measurement of flux in g-band. Also since the transient was detected in two bands, the r-band was incorrectly assigned instead of g-band as intended.
