Both are spectacular galaxies! The leftmost is impressively bulge-dominated, it’s rare to see such a massive, red central bulge with a spiral disk still so intact and so highly star-forming. Great find!

Ah yes, UGC 1382 has also gotten a lot of attention, and rightfully so because of the weird quirk where its central region is more star-forming than its disk… strange! There’s still much to be learnt about these “Malin 1-esque” objects.
