I noticed something really strange in single exposures for this galaxy. in g band it shows another galaxy next to it. while the image is halved the single exposures, but clearly the same galaxy, there is another galaxy in the 3rd frame, but there are no galaxies nearby it in the viewer and it only shows up in 2018 image.
what is even stranger is now I cannot replicate those series of images. the 2018-2-22 image in g is gone.
Can an alternate Universe flicker? is it possible to see the light from other realities and twinkle in and out of existence? I know there’s not a lot of good reasons a galaxy can appear and dissapear. I looked far and wide for a high velocity galaxy, but then how could it expand faster than the others through space? an alternate reality is a far fetched explaination, but I do not put its plausability at zero. the quantum world is just too strange and not completely understood and I have encountered many things personally in life that defy explaination. And I’m decent at explaining things. I was kinda creeped out by the mysterious image from 2018-2-22, but I had to go to sleep after I found out the image was gone last night. curiously I checked again today and the image is back, but the extra galaxy is cropped, but clearly not all of the way.
oddly the only time that image shows up is in a different browser. it appears to be a duplicate image. it looks like it is possibly the same galaxy, but a slightly different angle. ![]()
Ahh, if you look at exposure 724174, you’ll see it has double-images. This can happen when the telescope gets “bumped” during the exposure.
One time a little more than 20 years ago a feiend and I had been driving at around 3 am on a Thursday morning, We got to the first stop light and there was not another soul anywhere on that road. and I felt a wave wash over me from the right as We sat there. I felt the hair all over my body grow along with my fingernails and it felt like I aged a little. I didnt say a word and when my friend began to drive through the intersection he blurted out he has just had the strangest feeling and described the same experience and I told him I thought We had been hit by a gravity wave which includes time. It was only recently such a thing was proven to exist. in 2019 researchers published a paper showing that 2,000 atoms existed in two places at the same time. and just this year an experiment produced results that showed that atoms can exist in two places simultaneously. This of course being studied as a progression of the Double Slit Experiment showing that Electron can exist in two places simultaneously and the dawn of Quantum Mechanics. the implications of even one atom existing or several thousand atoms existing at once in two different places has wild implications for our understanding of reality. possibly more than we can ever fathom. These images are taken down to the microsecond in timing so I when you say “bumped” I have to ask, bumped by what?
Much more mundane…
One time, by an earthquake!
More commonly: there is a system that helps keep the mirror supported in the correct shape as we point the telescope are the sky at different angles. This uses pressurized air bags to support the mirror. When that system fails part-way through an exposure, the mirror can tip to one side.
Ok I’ll buy it that it’s not an alternate Universe flickering into ours this time. but i will be on the lookout. Earthquakes are pretty common occurences. but since you mentioned pressurized air bags. Earthquakes and Black Holes/Star Springs both have pressure waves; P Waves. I have often wondered what the source of the Gravity Wave was that washed over my friend Brent and I. Maybe two black holes or neutron stars hitting wasnt it. It is my strong belief that P Waves were used in the construction of the Great Pyramid in Giza. I used to be a crane operator picking up 20+ ton walls panels and shipping them on semi trailer. not to oversimplify it, but the Nile River used to be right next to the Pyramids and they stood on the bank. to accellerate 1 kg at 3 meters per second squared requires 1 Newton of force. 100 metric tons I need 100,000 Newtons. the Nile River as several million if not a billion Newtons at any given time. I dont need to throw it so I need less than 100,000. picking it up isnt the problem. it’s setting the stones and moving them in tight corridors. but if you use obelisks of granite and point them at the stone you want to move hanging them from a type of saw horse. and hit them on the base with wooden mallets the pressure wave travels down the obelisk and the tip focuses the p wave and it causes the stone to move. when setting the casing stones a specific type of limestone with p waves and possibly a second device a resonant frequency device providing the 11th harmonic and inducing liquifaction in the limestone and providing zero gaps between the stones. The Bible says that the Israelites built their temple without the Sound of Hammers. I know it doesnt seem related, but I think once We get a better grasp of resonant frequencies it will help us in Space Exploration among other things. I say it here today because in addition to my dream to build a new Observatory in Iowa I also hope to build Pyramids. The why of such a task is for a different day. maybe it can be both.
Imagine a sail underwater like a miniature dam as the counterweight or Newton Catcher. your fishing boat has a net tooo overloaded with fish. toss the sail overboard tied to the net and let the river drag it in.
