It seems the red z-band got masked out for some reason

How can object touching have red if red band is absent? Or is that the reason the object butted to it is so red and the green object is only green to offer contrast?

The processing software thinks the galaxy is an artifact that masked out the z-band. It was the only z-band detected in this data.

Yeah, if you scroll down to the bottom to the z-band exposures, the galaxy is masked in both

… not sure why!

It makes me wonder what else the software thinks is an artifact that isnt. Finding stuff like this and hopefully correcting it is all part of mapping the sky.
