Source of Cosmic Ray?

I think this galaxy is interesting. There are two likely cosmic rays in this galaxy, green and red. The red looks like a traveling object. There seems to be a bubble at the end if it a dark region. A green orb at the end here. I have often wondered if finding the source of a cosmic ray was about timing.

Hi,

The thing about cosmic rays is, they don’t come through the optics of the telescope – they are charged particles, so if they came from space and hit the primary mirror, they would be absorbed, they wouldn’t bounce like light does. That means that where they appear in the image is completely unrelated to where they actually came from on the sky! When we take “dark” images (long exposures with the shutter closed), those images also have cosmic rays.

cheers,
