Supernova caught in BASS data. Caught in z and g filters, missed by the r filter. :slight_smile:

Not sure if it’s just different stretches, but looks like BASS caught it fading in g.

Oh yeah, I think you are right. I don’t know if it’s of any use at all, but it is fun. The purple dot confused me since it did not look like the usual asteroid transients. Fun fact: There are also WFPC2/PC data for this very area from 2001. This kind of blows my mind, because it’s almost like a time traveler knew it would happen and had the PC chip land right on that very spot. But, no, it was just a really smart astronomer who specifically pointed at a bunch of star-forming regions in spirals to look for progenitors. Later on, it was imaged again with WFC3 as part of another SNAP program to make sure it wasn’t an impostor.
