Science as Art

Hi folks,

NERSC (the supercomputing center we use for the Legacy Surveys data processing) is running a “Science As Art” competition. It seems like a collage or mosaic of some of the beautiful posts on this forum would make a good entry! Anyone want to take a shot?

cheers,

I am into it. Bachelor of Fine Arts right here. The boundry between Art and Science is often blurred. I painted this. 3’x5’ oil.

Aww. Too bad I’m not a NERSC member, except for one of my colleagues who runs a 3D model of the Universe. She just started on one.

This is amazing!!

I’m a NERSC user, so could put in an entry on someone’s behalf.

No, i think it requires you to make images based on the usage of NERSC computers.

All of the images shown in the viewer were produced on NERSC computers.
The viewer is hosted on NERSC computers.
I think that qualifies

Thank you!

Are you sure? because running a website made especially hosted on Spin (NERSC)does not count because you have to make an image only from the supercomputers there?

“The calculations that produced the images must have been primarily performed on a NERSC system.”

LS images should qualify.
