Yes, it is a possible #supernova but this one already in my list. I have a list of possible #transients in the Galaxy Zoo project as well a list of possible #transients I discovered in the Legacy Suirvey Sky viewer. I recognized it immediately. But I still have to report a lot of them. (lack of time) I will and I also will mention your name.

Hi Ine, have you checked already the individual exposures for a potential light curve?

There’s a “single exposures” link for that :slight_smile: Not much to see for this one:
https://www.legacysurvey.org/viewer/exposures/?ra=184.4841&dec=22.6897&layer=ls-dr9

Thanks Dustin,

definetly present at 2017-03-28 in the g band, dimmer at 2017-04-22 in the r band and not present in the 2015-03-29 or 2015-04-08 in the z band. Also not present in SDSS.

Definetly a very likely supernova. Thats cool!

Hello, :slightly_smiling_face:

I don’t need a light curve to report a candidate. But is is very interesting to make one.

The things that are required to report are the apparent magnitude of the #supernova candidate, the coordinates (ra, dec) of the candidate, the date time and filter (band) of the ‘single image’ exposure’ in which the candidate is visible for the first time, the name of the host galaxy, which instrument (telescope) they used etc.

I have to calculate the apparent magnitude with a reference target (star) APT and an equation.

Hi, :slightly_smiling_face:

It’s been a while ago, my apologies for that. But I’m busy reporting some of my supernova candidates. Now I would also like to mention you in the reporter (discoverer section). Javi and Dustin. Is Javi Romàn your real name? TNS only accepts real names in that section. I would like to hear. Thanks! :slightly_smiling_face:

Kind regards from Ine

Oh, that’s very kind of you to offer!

I will wait a while to give Javi the chance to respond before I am going to report this one.

Kind rgards from Ine :stars::dizzy:

Hi Ine, yes, my name is Javier Román, and I have as affiliation the Kapteyn Astronomical Institute In Groningen. Let me know if you need something from me: jromanastro (at) gmail.com

Oh, you’re at Kapteyn? Cool! Do you know Teymoor Saifollahi?

Hello, :slightly_smiling_face:

Thank you for mentioning your name. I will report soon. Awesome you are at the Kapteyn Institute. :+1::star_struck:
I always wanted to become an astronaut or astronomer but I had this very lousy math teacher… :slightly_frowning_face::disappointed: And I wasn’t very good at math, on the other hand, I was good at physics and chemistry. :grinning:
Although I understand math much better now than I was a young teenager.

Well, I am working in a large hospital instead as a nutrition/medical Assistant on the dialysis, Brain Care unit and ER. I have a doctor’s assistant diploma and recently obtained a certificate in nutrition management and I am pursuing a bachelor’s degree in dietetics in my spare time. Not too bad…but if I could do it all over again, I’d be an astronomer or an astronaut. But I am too old, 51!

Kind regards from Ine :stars::dizzy:
