Planetary nebula?

Is this a planetary nebula?

It looks like an internal reflection.

Here is another, which is clearer.

Internal reflection in DECaLS dr5, gone in dr8 http://www.legacysurvey.org/viewer?ra=155.9708&dec=19.9787&layer=decals-dr5&zoom=10 https://www.zooniverse.org/projects/zookeeper/galaxy-zoo/talk/1270/1098275

You are seeing internal reflection within the telescope. It is even more confusing if you zoom out. The 4 dark lines is the “spider”, the arms that hold up the secondary reflector. The reflection is probably caused by a nearby bright star, which has been blacked out in dr5.

This doesn’t look like an internal reflection to me. Try looking at the same star in DR7.

I would really like it to be a planetary nebula
but there are similar artifacts to the west and east :frowning:

Maybe caused by Arcturus

Hmmm… you are right. I didn’t spot those! On with the hunt…
