Most Massive Black Hole

Was having a look at the VLASS layer and found this guy. Turns out this little blob is the galaxy that houses the most massive black hole we know. It is housed in TON 618 (this is what we are seeing). There are supposedly larger black holes although one of them is only larger within its error margin and the other is way too large and its actual mass is hotly debated. This is the largest black hole under the theoretical mass limit.

There is a great video showing the sizes of SMBHs in case anyone hasn’t seen it.

Incredibly radio-loud quasar as well

For reference, the cluster which supposedly houses the ridiculously massive black hole (that breaks the theoretical limit by an order of magnitude) is here.
