Please let me know if you continue seeing this!

It’s security certificate is invalid. May you try updating it?

I get this page: Up:Chrome, Down:Safari

I have checked NERSC. I see nothing. I checked uptimerobot status and it’s saying its up.

“No internet” sounds like a problem on your side… I just checked in firefox and safari on mine and both look fine

For some reason in the Google Chrome browser, it still says I get the “Your connection is not private” still. I tried it, saying “Invalid Security Credentials”, using HTTPS to use this can probably affect the connection to your site. I am still trying to search. I checked now and it seems to be working just fine.

Typically a “your connection is not private” message is displayed when your broadband/data provider’s protection software thinks it that the website you are attempting to visit contains malicious software/is a fraudulent website/other security problem. It often does this erroneously and there are a number of factors that (from my personal experience at least) can cause this problem. I would suggest clearing your cache and cookies and closing any excess tabs. Resetting your broadband can be a last resort if it keeps happening on multiple websites. Getting antivirus software is also a good idea if you don’t have it.

On a website security level (as Dustin I’m sure knows), there do not appear to be any issues. Certificates are up to date (“main” one expires July, other one September). Communication protocols are recent and solid. Website is not susceptible to common vulnerabilities.

Only issue is that there appears to be a handshake issue if one is using Chrome 49/XP SP3 to access the website. Although this is a fairly old chrome (2016 release), if you use it to try access the website there could be problems. Maybe try uninstalling and redownloading/updating Chrome?

Heard that a year and a half ago y’all had a wildfire at the Kitt Peak observatory in June of 2022.

I somehow found this while looking up the radio telescope there.

Yep, it was quite scary! (I wasn’t there, but was watching and worrying!)

Hah, yeah, that DESI redbubble store was put together by my DESI colleague Claire Lamman, who also makes some amazing illustrations (and pastry!):

My favorite illustrations and art came from David Aguilar, who created some amazing art. He creates amazing books (e.g. Little Kids’ First Big Book of Space; Space Encyclopedia by National Geographic)

Pictures from the Solar Eclipse of 2024, Location: Conway Regional Airport @ Conway, AR.
We were originally going to drive there due to the weather in Mississippi, and we felt safe to fly a small Cessna plane with my flight instructor (Langley) in that weather however, we did! We arrived 4 hours before the show.
Our cameras were set up, including my modified homemade eclipse lens and a bunch of cameras. H
