What is a ‘Galaxy towards a cluster of Galaxies’?

I’m not sure – it’s certainly a galaxy, maybe the “towards a cluster of galaxies” means that there is also a cluster of galaxies in that part of sky? And maybe that galaxy is a member (maybe not)?

Welcome

If there is a catalogue in SiMBAD if a parent galaxy is torwardsthe cluster, is most likely the case. SIMBAD chooses an “object type” menu. GiC (2016ApJS), The redMaPPer galaxy cluster catalog from DES science verification data.

This catalogue is now listed in SiMBAD. This object is also designated with a Gaia entry, which is classification as an asterisk (*) meaning a star.
