I do believe that is just a galaxy with a lot of redshift. Must be very old though.

Sorry, yes completely - thank you. It just implies it’s receding. Generally this means the greater the redshift, the further the light has travelled so older galaxy but I kinda just guessed this one had a lot of redshift from its colour.

Ofcourse thats possible, in general I view red galaxies as either ‘old’ (lots of red old stars / no starformation), high redshift and/or reddened by MW dust

But I also keep in mind a clear distinction between the measurement (redshifted spectral lines) and the theoretical conclusion for that measurement; mainly expansion of the universe / spacetime (aside from gravitational redshift & peculiar motion), not seen as actual receding motion but equivalent to it.
