Interesting object

This is a pair of relatively nearby stars.
If you click on the “Gaia EDR3” overlay (under “Imaging catalogs”), you should see the blue and orange-yellow stars circled, and they have similar “pm” (proper motion = motion across the sky) and “parallax” (related to distance), so they might have been born in the same star cluster with similar velocities.

The funny-looking pink artifacts to the left and right of the center of the blue one come from saturation – this star is bright enough that it overwhelms the pixels in the CCD detector, and then minor havor ensues :slight_smile:
