Those are two stars in the Milky Way. The strange colors are because they are bright enough to saturate the detectors, and then the charge bleeds horizontally. The sharp discs around them are because we subtract “halos” from them, but only up to that inner disc radius.

Nice find – and the nearby galaxy NGC 5291 is amazing!
