Interesting object: Nova?

When looking at the single exposures Legacy Survey Sky Browser the exposures after 2018-10-07 show 2 stars in the Galaxy disk. (E and W of the core)

Is this due to a new camera? filter?
(I have noticed the newer pictures are more red sensitive, so possibly this is an explanation why they don’t show in older pics?)

The single exposures are listed in order, first by filter (g, r, z), then by date.

The first two exposures here are g band (blue sensitive), so you only see that blue star.
Next three are r band (red sensitive), and the last three are z band (infrared), so those reddish blobs stand out clearly.

Thanks for clarifying! (again!)
