Blue… is relatively close to us?

It is relatively close, and it has a lot of new star formation going on, known as “starburst”. This is often triggered by a collision between two galaxies, or by gravitational compression of gas within a galaxy to form bright new stars, which burn blue-white as they are consuming their hydrogen fuel very quickly. Older, more stable stars (like the sun) appear more yellowish.
