I am forwarding this request from my colleague John Moustakas, who is recruiting help with visual inspection / vetting of the Siena Galaxy Atlas 2025.

We* want you…to help with looking at images of beautiful galaxies! If that’s all you need to know, then fill out this Google Form to get started. Or read on to find out more–
We are working to create the 2025 version of the Siena Galaxy Atlas (SGA), which aims to be the most complete and well-vetted catalog of nearby large galaxies, and we need your help!
By volunteering just a few hours of your time looking at beautiful images of galaxies, you can help us identify (and fix) issues with the catalog by answering some straightforward questions using the Zooniverse citizen-science platform.
No experience in galaxy classifications is necessary, just enthusiasm and a few hours of your time over the next ~10 days. Most galaxies should be quick—5-10 seconds—which means that you can make a lot of progress quickly. And there will be more opportunities to help out with the larger SGA project in the future.
We are hoping to have as many galaxies classified by April 25, 2024.
If all this sounds great and if you haven’t already done so, please fill out this Google Form to get started and to access the project.
Thanks in advance for your help!
-John Moustakas and Greg Rudnick, on behalf of the SGA-2025 team.
This project is collaborative work being carried out between Siena College, led by Dr. John Moustakas and Dr. Rose Finn, KU, led by Dr. Gregory Rudnick, and the DESI Legacy Imaging Surveys team. Two KU undergrads, Terry Mechem and Maddy Evenson lead the development of the Zooniverse page and the work will feed directly into the dissertation of KU student Kim Conger.

I have experimented myself with a few Zooniverse projects before.
if you click the “Activate Talk Subject Comments Board” button on your project’s Talk page, it will automatically start a comments board where your volunteers can post their notes and comments about your image.
Is there any reason for this to be included in the classification instead of Talk?
I assume it’s just because it’s easier to track the comment this way and actually take an action to improve the SGA based on the comment if it is attached to the object, rather than in the discussion board.
For further questions I have just asked the project staff about this subject of adding the Talk section in your project. In this case I sent John Moustakas a message.
By the way, almost all Zooniverse projects set up the Subject Comments board. It automatically links the subject with the comments to the board. According to the best practices, this action is strongly recommended. https://help.zooniverse.org/getting-started/#talk
Hi. I found a galaxy (IC 2520) associated with a Voorwerpje, which I saw earlier, but without the “Talk boards” set up, tagging this with #voorwerp on the Zooniverse project is not possible.
They may not bother with talk pages if its supposed to be a quick process. Especially considering there’s a comment section on the form, which is easier to track.
