Dustin, do you work at the observatory with DECam?

Whenever you say something about how the images are produced, you say “we”, which leads me to assume that you are a part of the Dark Energy Survey

Not quite  The Dark Energy Survey team built DECam and in exchange were given more than 500 nights on the Blanco telescope. The community gets the rest of the time. I’m part of a different team, the DESI Legacy Imaging Surveys team, that carried out the DECam Legacy Survey (DECaLS) using DECam. We were granted a bunch of nights. I traveled there (Chile) to do some of the observing runs. I work at Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics in Canada.
