Welcome! That is a galaxy - they can come in a lot of weird and wonderful shapes. I think this is an (imaginatively called) irregular galaxy.

Oh thanks! First time seeing one like this that’s not merging with another etc.

No problem! Irregular galaxies are usually formed after a “normal” galaxy is acted on by an uneven gravitational force so this one could very much be the result of a merger, but a merger where we can no longer easily distinguish the initial galaxies.
